THE DAY OF SALVATION

Time before and time behind
Contradict the now of Mind.
Backward-looking, laden then
Clogs the onward march of men.
Frightened when and dubious how
Yield to everlasting now.
Timid where and haughty why
Vanish as a temporal lie.
Ours the power to understand
All eternity "at hand."
