BE OBEDIENT—AND SAFE

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Judy and Joan, sisters, were invited by their grown-up friends Elizabeth and Bob to spend a week in the mountains. Eagerly the little girls planned their vacation, and upon arrival they raced up and down the mountainside, went with Bob for a row on the lake, and finally settled down happily on their camp cots at bedtime.

The little girls and their friends were students of Christian Science. "In camp," said Bob the first morning, "there are certain rules we ask you to keep. Since these rules are for the safety and happiness of us all, they are good. In obeying them, we are being obedient to Principle. As good campers, let us keep the rules. As Christian Scientists, let us all express divine intelligence and know that our safety and happiness come from obeying God."

"We obey God by reflecting good," explained Elizabeth. "Since God is good, man made in His likeness is good. Since God is Love, man is loving. Since God is Truth, man is truthful and honest. Man cannot even for a moment express anything that is unlike God."
