[Original testimony in German]

"When we ponder the Psalmist's songs of praise and thanksgiving, there awakens in us a desire to 'praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men.' Have not all of us who know of Christian Science had at least one healing which would be worthy of being recounted in a public testimony?"

When I read these lines, the introduction to an article published in The Herald of Christian Science, German Edition, for January, 1939, entitled "Giving Testimonies," I said to myself that at last I would do what I ought to have done long ago—testify to a healing I had experienced.

Four years have passed since I became seriously ill with hardening of the arteries, which was affecting my heart, and which the doctor told me was incurable. Thereupon I turned to Christian Science for help. For three months I was very ill. Although I did not have to remain in bed, I felt so miserable I could not work and could eat almost nothing. Then I realized that I could not get well as long as I wavered, sometimes leaving Science and going to the doctor, and so I told him I was going to rely completely on God and would no longer take any palliatives. I carried out this resolution and have kept it to the present day.
