Through the healing of my wife...

Through the healing of my wife in 1919. I became interested in Christian Science. At that time she was expected to pass on. not having had a normal action of the bowels for five weeks. In addition, we were in serious financial need. We asked for help in Christian Science. and in about three months after the first visit of a practitioner we had a new car, paid for, and my wife was driving it.

The Bible became clearer to me after reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I have had healings of injuries and have also been protected from death in logging camps. In 1928 I lost my property and home and worked for wages until 1931. I then became despondent and stopped reading and studying. In 1933 I started to study in earnest and have been steadily employed ever since.

Through reading the textbook I have lost all desire for tobacco, liquor, tea, and coffee. Overcoming the tobacco habit was a struggle, as the suggestion persisted that I had not the moral strength to stop. But the answer was there: You have all the strength you need.
