In Revelation 3:20 is that glorious...

In Revelation 3:20 is that glorious promise, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Twenty-four years ago the healing Christ, Truth, as revealed to this age by Mary Baker Eddy through Christian Science, knocked at our door and was admitted.

Our six-year-old son was in a hospital preparatory to an operation. An ear specialist had diagnosed the trouble as double mastoiditis, and had said an operation must be performed. A cold which developed on the way to the hospital made it necessary to postpone for a few days the operation we dreaded but had accepted as inevitable.

Then it was, in our hour of extreme need, that Christian Science was presented to us by a business friend. We opened the door and willingly invited in this welcome guest, the Christ, Truth. We brought our son home from the hospital and asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. The love and assurance the practitioner expressed are as clear today as they were then. We were asked. "Can't you trust your son to God tonight?" When asked to come and see the condition that had to be healed, the practitioner told us she only wanted to see the child perfect, as God sees him. She also told us that the only operation there really is, is the operation of the law of God, the law of good. After six treatments the complete healing came, and it has been permanent.
