Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Evening Gazette.
Worcester, Massachusetts (Second Church).
Dedication services were conducted in the morning, afternoon, and evening on Sunday, June 9, 1946, in Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Worcester. At each service the First Reader read a brief history of the church.
The first service was held by this group of Christian Scientists on April 24, 1932, in Moen Chapel of Chestnut Street Congregational Church. In November, 1932, they were recognized by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, as Christian Science Society, Worcester. The society also was incorporated at that time, and was granted a charter in April, 1933.
