They rose up early in the morn;
They heard their leader's voice;
Obediently the singers praised
The beauty of God's holiness,
The mercy that endures.
And even as their praise began,
Delivering ambushments were sent,
And Judah saw salvation from its fears.

And at the dawning of the day
In Science we rejoice.
We too begin to sing and praise
The beauty of God's holiness,
The mercy that endures.
And even as our praise begins,
With eyes new-opened, we behold
In safe abiding God's reflection, man.
