True Motherhood

My child and I have always been.
Before time was, our only Father-Mother created man
And ever holds him, as His well-beloved child,
Dependent only on His eternal care.

True motherhood belongs to God;
Is known in constancy, and tenderness, and love.
God's child exists beyond, above, all temporal concept;
Creative Mind alone has given him life.
This child has perfect safety in God's keeping,
From Him alone inherits every perfect gift.
No law of Love demands dependence on another,
But bids all find in Him their needs are filled.

So stand we then, children of God together,
Before His throne in loving brotherhood,
Ideas of Mind, the only real Parent,
Ever sustained by His eternal care.
