There is a Blessing for You

At the present time there are many men and women who are still members of the armed forces. Because the actual fighting has stopped, arguments of dissatisfaction, discouragement, injustice, and frustration sometimes assail these people, who are eager to return to civilian life. Under such circumstances one may ask, Does Christian Science have anything to offer?

The writer well remembers a rather trying period early in his business experience. The surroundings in which he was working were not too pleasant, the remuneration was extremely modest, and some of his associates expressed qualities that were distasteful to him. One night as he rehearsed his complaints to a member of the family, she lovingly replied, "You know you will not be ready for anything better until you have made the most of your present opportunities and seen your associates as God creates them."

Fortunately this constructive rebuke fell on open ears, and the individual to whom it was addressed went forth with a clearer realization of his own shortcomings and a definite resolve to remedy them. With a willingness to perform his part, small though it was, faithfully and well, and with a genuine readiness to see good in his fellows, is it any wonder that the succeeding days were happier, and that a change to a much better position resulted?
