It is with deep gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science and to the protection it gives against sin and sickness.

My father and mother came into Christian Science about the time I was a year old, and consequently my childhood was comparatively free from children's diseases. I was healed of measles in a few hours, although I was kept in and the sign remained on the door the length of time required by law.

For years before coming into Christian Science, my father had suffered from chronic dyspepsia and constipation. He was not a churchgoing man, so when a friend lent him "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, my father read it more from curiosity than from any thought that he might be healed. When he had read it through once, he began to realize the immense promise of healing and protection and happiness in store for those who search this great book, so he then began to study it slowly and diligently, as a textbook. By the end of six months he was completely healed, could eat anything, had no more pains, and had gained forty pounds in weight. Father learned that it was not the food that had made him sick, but simply the human belief about food. When he awakened to the fact that God is his Life and the source of all activity, the false human belief about food lost its power to make him ill, and activity became normal.
