Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Iowa

The Iowa press and clergy have been friendly, and no printed criticism of our religion was observed in any Iowa publication, nor has Christian Science suffered misrepresentation through the Iowa press.

The newspapers of Iowa have been very generous in allowing us considerable space for free publicity. Lesson-Sermon excerpts—the Golden Text and correlative selections from the Bible and from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy—have been printed weekly in full or in part in one hundred and thirteen papers. The account of our Thanksgiving service was printed in twenty-one newspapers. A religious article from The Christian Science Monitor was carried monthly by six newspapers. Reports of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church were carried by forty-seven newspapers. In about eight cities lectures have been printed in full, and in many cities reports have been printed in part.
