I sometimes wonder if I am half...

I sometimes wonder if I am half grateful enough for the blessed privilege of having been brought up in Christian Science. My maternal grandfather purchased a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, about forty years ago while on business in a distant city, and brought it home to his wife and five children.

My grandmother immediately asked for Science treatment for asthma, from which she had suffered since childhood. She was permanently healed, and her testimony appeared in one of the periodicals several years ago. My mother and her four sisters and brothers have all been blessed by Christian Science. My mother is an earnest and active worker in this field, and it is due to her faithful guidance in this wonderful truth that I have availed myself of this blessed heritage.

My father, the son of a physician, also became interested in this truth and is an active church member. His mother took up the study of Science, and lived for many years after a physician told members of our family that she could not possibly live more than two years longer. She also had a healing of cataracts on the eyes which an optometrist told me would obscure her eyesight in six months. She never knew of this prediction, but while continuing her daily reading of the Lesson-Sermon and the Christian Science periodicals she not only was healed of the cataracts, but read without glasses during her latter years.
