Christian Science has truly given me "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" (Isa. 61:3). The ashes and mourning and heaviness were occasioned by incidents related to my husband's desire for intoxicating beverages, which desire was entirely healed in one month through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. He was also healed of a dislocated shoulder after a prominent surgeon had entreated him to have the arm wired to the shoulder, stating that the ligaments were entirely destroyed. This condition was healed completely in Science, and there was no further trouble from it during the remaining thirty years of his life.

The children were healed very quickly of various so-called children's diseases. They were also healed of inflammatory rheumatism, colitis, burns, and a dislocated hip. I have been healed of headache and heartache, and experienced painless childbirth.

I am very grateful for the physical healings, but more so for the joyous living which the study of Christian Science guarantees. It was indeed a precious privilege for me to have class instruction. It gave me a priceless sense of God's nearness and dearness and power, and a greater appreciation of our Leader.
