Saving Grace

The Psalmist prayed, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." The purification of our thoughts and desires transforms our environment. A home that manifests inharmony can become a place of peace and harmony. A position believed to be degrading and unbearable can become one of dignity and joyful service. To bring harmony into experience one needs to accept God's all-sufficient grace as a quality of his nature, and reflect the Love which blesses all mankind alike.

As proof of our desire for righteous living, we accept the gracious qualities of Spirit, such as purity, gratitude, kindness, patience, and forgiveness, and make them our own by expressing them in our human experience. We cultivate these Godlike qualities so that they may permeate our lives and "renew a right spirit" within us. Our task is to reflect God's love to those around us, and we use every opportunity to do so.

In the measure that we are obedient to God's divine guidance, loving, patient, and forgiving toward our fellow men, we feel an inner warmth which is the reflection of Love and which radiates good to those about us. They in turn feel the beneficent influence which evidences God's presence. Thus our whole environment is in a degree touched by that influx of love and light called grace.
