Knowing the Truth

[Of Special Interest to Young People]

Perhaps the most familiar words from the Bible inscribed on the walls of Christian Science churches are those of Jesus, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." No doubt to many newcomers to Christian Science this saying of our Master's held little meaning and, like Pilate, they may have questioned, "What is truth?" Then, having experienced healing through Christian Science, they realize that they have found the truth in its revelation of perfect God and perfect man.

The study of the truth as revealed in Christian Science never fails to bless even the most doubting and analytical thought, for through this Science one learns that the truth is that everything in God's universe, including man, is spiritual, harmonious, eternal, and is so maintained by His law of harmony.

To make effective use of the promise of the master Christian we must first learn how to know the truth. Simple it is when we see that it merely involves a change of thinking from a material to a spiritual basis, a willingness to quit believing the lying testimony of the material senses and to become convinced of the true facts as revealed by spiritual sense. Knowing the truth is always a corrective mental process which frees us from discord.
