About two years ago one of our twin boys, aged three and a half years, passed on with acute lymphatic leukemia. Doctors had said that there was no known means of treating it and no hope of recovery. Less than a week later the other twin manifested the symptoms of the same disease, a blood test having shown that ten per cent of his blood was already leukemia cells. The doctors wanted us to take him to the children's hospital for observation and experimental treatment but we refused, turning completely to Christian Science for healing. We let the little boy play around and live as he normally would, and we kept in constant touch with a practitioner.

About five weeks later, when the hospital desired another blood test from him, we consented, feeling that ill-health no longer held any power over the child. That test, to the astonishment of the doctors, showed his blood to be perfectly normal. Since then the little boy has grown both physically and mentally, until he is now often the subject of comment because of his robust appearance and loving ways.

The accomplishment of this healing followed days and weeks of persistent, continuous study of Science and Health and a growing understanding of and confidence in the truth contained in this remarkable work of Mrs. Eddy's. Fear of the power of this supposedly fatal disease was overcome through the clear understanding that man is the perfect child of God.
