Since the outbreak of war with Germany in 1939 to the present time, I have experienced the most beautiful evidences of protection and supply, for which I now feel a great desire to express my gratitude.

In September, 1939, I was in the United States, and at the end of the following month my sister and I crossed to England. Relying on God's guidance and protection, we experienced a perfectly harmonious journey without incident of any kind.

After living for a time in the country, I felt I was not doing all I might do to be helpful, so I decided to move nearer to London. About then it was difficult to find accommodations, and I felt rather like Abraham, when "he went out, not knowing whither he went" (Hebr. 11:8). I was certain, however, that a place would be found for me, so I took a room which I had been offered for a month in a boarding house in the Midlands, sold my furniture at the cottage where I had been living, and asked a friend near London to try to find me a room. The month passed, but I still held to the thought that my right place was already determined by Mind. Just three days before I had to leave, a telegram arrived to say that a room had been found near London. This room was rather too expensive, but the owner directed me to another house in the same district which had a beautiful garden, and here I found a comfortable room and work within easy reach. I stayed for nearly two years.
