Demonstration through Application
A Christian Science demonstration is indeed a joyous experience. Such an experience enables one to prove for himself, through the application of God's divine laws, man's spiritual perfectness, his oneness with the Father, and his rich heritage of freedom from every form of human bondage.
The Bible tells us that we must acknowledge God in all our ways. To do this we must have a true concept of what God is, of His perfect creation and perfect laws. By correctly utilizing God's laws, one finds that more abundant health, exuberant joy, and lasting peace are brought into his human experience. The utilization of the laws of God does not mean working out of imperfection into perfection. It means starting from perfection and perceiving so clearly man's true status as the perfect child of God that inharmony is replaced with harmony.
In reality, perfection does not have to be demonstrated; it is an ever-present fact. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, states (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 242): "Christian Science is absolute; it is neither behind the point of perfection nor advancing towards it; it is at this point and must be practised therefrom. Unless you fully perceive that you are the child of God, hence perfect, you have no Principle to demonstrate and no rule for its demonstration."
