Power, Love, and a Sound Mind

These lines are addressed particularly to our young Christian Scientists, to the girls and boys who are back at school after the summer holiday, and to the young men and women entering their fall semesters in college. With many, these are days of adjustment, of getting accustomed to new environment, new faces; days wherein may come problems of homesickness and depression, as well as of fear of failure.

Is anyone listening to the whispering of mortal mind that he does not like school, and wishes he were home? Does the suggestion come that the teachers are not likable and the schoolmates are uncongenial? Can an understanding of Christian Science help in such situations? From a multitude of beneficiaries of this Christly system of thought comes a hearty, unequivocal, "Indeed it can!"

If one is a Christian Scientist in name only, that is, if his healing work has been done by indulgent parents, and if while at home he evinced only a passive interest in the study and demonstration of this great truth, here is his opportunity to spread and try his own wings—to prove for himself that Christian Science actually does heal sickness, still heartaches, and solve all manner of human problems.
