Sunday School Observations

A substitute teacher was asked to take a Sunday school class composed of boys ten to twelve years of age who were just beginning their study of Christian Science. The substitute teacher was told that these boys were very skeptical and either doubted or questioned most of the Sunday school teaching.

Apparently these boys had been discussing the Easter season with children from Sunday schools of other denominations, for without any warning or any reference to the subject of the resurrection, one of the boys said on Easter Sunday: "Well, there is just one thing I never will understand. I can't see how someone can be put in a sepulcher and then suddenly get up and walk right out of the tomb."

At this point and right along with the continued study of the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes it seemed wise to the teacher to direct the attention of these boys to some of the miracles. And here the opportunity was taken to acquaint the class with the definition of "miracle" given by Mary Baker Eddy on page 591 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
