I wish to express my gratitude...

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings which I have received during the past twenty years. Previous to becoming interested in Christian Science I was a very nervous, unhappy child. I had grown into young womanhood with very little interest in life and a great fear of death. There seemed to be no reason for my being here; I felt misunderstood and never seemed to be in my right place. My father had passed on six months before I was born, leaving my mother with nine other children. My mother's shock, anxiety occasioned by trying to keep her family together, and her hatred for the person who was responsible for the accident which caused the death of my father, seemed to be my only heritage.

It was a beautiful experience for me when a Christian Science practitioner lovingly and patiently explained to me that God is Love, and that He is my Father and Mother. She also referred me to the words of Elihu (Job 33:4), "The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life."

My first healing was of extreme nervousness and the need of wearing eyeglasses. With continued help from this practitioner and with my own honest efforts to understand what I read in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of a heart ailment, and one lung which had been affected was also healed.
