In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy tells us (p. 372), "If pride, superstition, or any error prevents the honest recognition of benefits received, this will be a hindrance to the recovery of the sick and the success of the student."

Pondering this sentence, I realized the time had come for me to acknowledge the great good which I have received from Christian Science. Many minor diseases have been healed through the years, and twelve years ago I was healed of what the doctors called tic douloureux or facial neuralgia. They claimed that there was no cure for it, but that I could get relief by having injections of alcohol, which would numb the nerve. This I refused to do, and I relied on God for my healing.

At the time my mother passed on I was healed of a sense of separation. The paragraph in Science and Health (p. 289) with the marginal heading "Death but an illusion" was made clear to me through the help of a practitioner.
