"He made the stars also"
When
darkened thought the glory cannot feel
Of that great light God made to rule the day,
Though clouds the lesser orb of night conceal,
Take heart—He also made the stars! Some ray
Of truth, some stars of hope and faith are nigh
To lift the thought to clearer atmosphere;
And as they radiate they multiply,
Until the greater lights again appear.
I breathe a silent prayer of gratitude
For those great lights, replete with heavenly grace,
Which burst on me, sometimes, with magnitude,
And guide my thought into the secret place;
But when fear seems to hide from me their glow,
I thank God that He made the stars also.
