When Christian Science was presented to me, almost twenty-five years ago, everything looked very dark. I had had a nervous breakdown after the passing on of my mother, and I did not know which way to turn. This Science comforted me and proved to me that, as Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 331), "God is divine Life, and Life is no more confined to the forms which reflect it than substance is in its shadow."

Early in my study of Christian Science I had the joy of seeing it heal our little girl. Her older sister excitedly called that the little one could not talk. Some heavy lumber had fallen on the child's head. I denied the accident instantly and vigorously and with all my heart turned to God for help. Almost immediately the little girl came running into the house, saying, "Mother, I am all right." In not more than half an hour the extreme swelling had disappeared.

Since that time joy, peace, and harmony have gradually been established in our home. I have witnessed the healing of many physical ills, such as blood poisoning, severe burns, constipation, sick headaches, bilious attacks, insomnia, lumbago, sore throat, and other ills too numerous to mention. Some of the healings have been slow, while others have been instantaneous, but I feel that the slow healings have made me study more and also have taught me to be more patient and humble. I cannot understand how anyone can be happy without knowing God as He is revealed in Christian Science.
