It is astonishing that one who has been so wonderfully blessed for many years should have hesitated as long as I have done publicly to express gratitude to God, the Giver of all good.

As one who has derived much benefit from the testimonies which are published in the Christian Science periodicals and those that are given orally at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, I wish to testify to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science.

Christian Science came to my attention immediately after the termination of World War I. At that time I was faced with a period of social and financial rehabilitation. I was entertaining a great deal of bitterness towards those who I thought were responsible for this situation. Slowly but surely the purifying process went on. The period of chemicalization seemed long and afflictive, but His angels were with me. In the years which have intervened, there have been many setbacks, but also many victories. While I fully realize that the setbacks might have been avoided, still the lessons they have taught are very precious, and no doubt prepared the way for later victories. Through them I have learned to pray, in the words of Mrs. Eddy (Poems, p. 4):
