I have had so many proofs of God's love and protection since my last testimony was published, soon after I left school, that I feel I must submit this expression of my increasing gratitude for Christian Science.

Our two children were born with just the presence of a qualified Christian Science nurse, and absent treatment from a consecrated practitioner whom I did not meet until several years later. The first baby came while we were living in the country. As he arrived a week early the nurse was sent for in the middle of the night. She lived three hundred miles away, but she got to us in time, and the whole experience was a very happy and painless one. I had done a lot of mental work beforehand, and now saw quite clearly that God is the only creator of man, and also that, as an idea of Love, that baby loved me, and therefore could not hurt me in any way.

Our little girl came during the blitz on London. We lived on the outskirts of the city all the time and were not disturbed by it in any way. When the barrage started I felt impelled to send out a barrage of thoughts, the strongest declarations of Truth that I knew. The birth took just over an hour, and was quite without pain.
