Item of Interest

In preparing for a Christian Science lecture, thoughtful consideration should be given to providing adequate facilities to accommodate all who are likely to attend. While it is entirely proper to hold lectures in church edifices, where there are several churches in a community it has also been found helpful for the churches to consider giving a few lectures in the course of a lecture year in a suitable hall which is prominently located and of sufficient seating capacity to take care of all comers.

Christian Science lectures are given with the hope and expectation that a goodly number of friendly and unprejudiced townspeople will be present. One of the reasons for giving a Christian Science lecture is to help those who are reaching out for what they feel our religion has to offer but who may not yet have found their way to a Christian Science church service. When such individuals are ready to attend one of our lectures and make the effort to do so, they should be able to gain admittance. It is regrettable when strangers or newcomers to Christian Science have to be turned away from a Christian Science lecture because of insufficient seating space.
