Selma, California (Society).

Two dedication services were held on Sunday, January 7, 1945, by Christian Science Society, Selma. A history of the society was read, which follows in part:

Christian Science Society, Selma, had its inception among interested residents of Selma and vicinity, who met informally in private homes for a time prior to the fall of 1915, for the study of the Christian Science Lesson-Sermons.

In November, 1915, Vanderburgh Hall was rented, and regular services were begun in February, 1916. Woodman Hall was Occupied in November, 1919, and Legion Hall in February, 1923.

In December, 1920, Christian Science Society, Selma, was organized, and soon thereafter became a branch of The Mother Church. The Women's Improvement Club provided a satisfactory arrangement in March, 1925, by which services were to be conducted in the clubhouse in Lincoln Park, and this arrangement continued from that date until June, 1940, at which time the church edifice was ready for occupancy.—The Selma Enterprise and The Selma Irrigator.
