It has been my privilege to be reared in a Christian Science home, and to rely upon its teachings to heal, guide, and protect me. It is a joy to testify to the healing efficacy of Truth.

Several years ago I experienced a healing of appendicitis. A practitioner was asked to help me when this difficulty arose. Relief was quick, but the error reoccurred even though the loving work of the practitioner was always quickly effective. One night the pain seemed more insistent than ever before. I thought at first I should have to request my husband to ask the practitioner to help me again, but the truth suddenly flooded my consciousness and I realized that fear had been dominating my thought. Reversing this lie, I turned wholly to God, and as the understanding of His great goodness and all-presence and power came into my consciousness every phase of the false dream faded into nothingness and I joyously realized the healing was complete.

Another healing for which I am very grateful is that of a broken thumb. It occurred at a time when I was en route to join my husband, who was stationed at an Army camp in the South. While hurrying to catch a train I lost my footing and fell part way down a cement stairway. The material evidence was at first alarming, but the realization came to me strongly and firmly that God was with me, and I turned to Him with absolute confidence that I was cared for.
