For a long time I have felt that I must in some way express my great debt of gratitude to God for Christian Science. I know no better way to do so than to relate through the Sentinel some of the blessings I have received as a result of Mary Baker Eddy's untiring toil in giving to us the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I began the study of Christian Science because of a physical problem, but when I gained the spirit of its teachings I realized its mission is not primarily to bring physical health, but to destroy the "belief that man lives in and is dependent upon matter. The more I study Christian Science the more clearly I realize that the only way to peace, or the kingdom of heaven on earth, is through purification of self. In the degree that we recognize the oneness and allness of Life, Truth, and Love do we begin to manifest the divine nature.

Science has quickly healed me of sprained ankles, sick headaches, which passed away without any specific work being done, and severe burns. A fractured shoulder took longer to heal, but I realize, as our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says on page 410 of Science and Health, "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger." It has also been a great source of comfort to me in the home and in my work.
