Letters to the Press from Christian Science Committees on Publication
Church Standard
D. F. J. Harricks, Committee on Publication for New South Wales, Australia
Church Standard, Sydney
Many will, I believe, heartily endorse the statement by S. M. W. in his article in The Healer, reprinted in one of your recent issues, that "there never was a time in the history of the Christian church when the ministry of divine healing was more needed than today."
"At a meeting of the Christian Scientist Association, April 12, 1879, on motion of Mrs. Eddy, it was voted,—To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual, p. 17). S. M. W. is unwilling to acknowledge the plain fact, so long proved and recorded by well informed commentators, that Christian Science is practicing Christian healing.
