The Light of Love
If
you would heal the sorrowing and ill.
If you would wipe the tears of pride away.
Let the bright light of Love come in and fill
Your heart with its warm, liberating ray.
Then, when you look upon your fellow man
Bent by a load of care and grief and sin,
The light of Love that gladdens your own heart
Will overflow and warm and hearten him.
Love needs no spoken word to silence pain.
To lift the load of care, the weight of sin.
Where the Christ, Truth, is known hearts sing again;
Love heals and comforts when it enters in.
You who would bear the flaming torch of Truth.
Hold it aloft, where all mankind may see
The Christlike glow that pierces fear's dark night
And points the way to immortality.
