The Christ, Truth, as revealed...

The Christ, Truth, as revealed in Christian Science, has given me much to be grateful for. Truly Mary Baker Eddy has shown us the basis for "a new heaven and a new earth." All my life I have experienced instances of healing, protection, guidance, and provision through the application of my understanding of Christian Science and the help of others. One such instance was the removal of an iron splinter which had become embedded in my eye and seemed difficult to locate. When my thought was freed from a deep sense of resentment, and a clear realization of the presence and power of divine Love was attained, the splinter came to the surface of the eye and was easily and painlessly removed, and there were none of the evil aftereffects which had been predicted.

A passage in the Bible (Matt. 7:13,14) says, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." It is easy, in the service, when one mixes with men of all sorts of backgrounds, to be a "regular fellow" and follow the crowd. I have found that refusing to indulge undesirable habits and thoughts, accepting only the truth about man instead of being disturbed over the sinful customs of others, and keeping clearly in mind the facts of being, takes effort, watching, and praying, but I have been blessed in the proportion that I have done this.

I and others have been guided, protected, and taken care of in daily activities through help in Christian Science from loved ones at home and my own realization that Truth, Life, and Love are ever present. Although I should like to be home, I am grateful for an opportunity to prove my understanding of God's love midst all the confusing human thinking about me.
