It is with unspeakable gratitude that I give my testimony of the many blessings which have come into my life since I accepted and have endeavored to practice the teachings of Christian Science.

I was brought up in a Christian home where we were encouraged to love God and His Word, but were left free to formulate our own interpretation of the Bible teaching. I first heard of Christian Science when my father secured a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in 1898. My parents attended some of the church services, but the interest dropped.

A few years later I sailed for the Dominion of Canada, where I stayed for two or three years. I can well remember on several occasions passing the doors of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Toronto, and wondering what went on inside; I was curious, but without sufficient courage to enter and see for myself.
