All Is Infinite Mind's Manifestation

It was Sunday, and the morning service of a Christian Science church in London was drawing to a close. The First Reader was reading from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" the words of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all" (p. 468). Suddenly a roar was heard overhead and a flying bomb passed low over the building.

What a contrast! On the one hand, the Word of Truth; on the other, the testimony of the material senses. The writer, who was present at this service, found in this statement by our Leader a new significance, for the truth was illumined as never before with something of the brilliance of the light which beat down upon Saul on the road to Damascus.

If all is Mind and "its infinite manifestation," what then was this seemingly destructive weapon which had just passed by? It certainly was not a product of infinite Mind; therefore it was no part of reality, and could neither be feared nor cause destruction to that which is real and God-created. This weapon, and everything else of a similar nature, being the product of the carnal mind, had only the power which we believed it to have.
