I am the aunt of the above testifier...

I am the aunt of the above testifier and wish to add my humble gratitude for Christian Science, which has blessed our home for almost thirty-five years. During that time, we have had healings of tonsillitis, heart trouble, eczema, colds, and impacted wisdom teeth, and many fine proofs of supply, place, and position. Much more valuable than these, however, is the peace of mind which comes when we turn unreservedly to God and listen for the "still small voice."

The week before the bombing at Pearl Harbor. I awakened one morning with a verse from Psalms ringing in my ears (112:7). "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord." As this persisted I recognized it as an angel thought and began to realize what it meant. I saw that since there is no evil in God's realm, there could be no evil tidings. A sentence from our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 492), reads, "For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence." During the next couple of days I tried faithfully to watch that my thinking did not wander away from the absolute truth that man is spiritual.

When the Wednesday evening meeting came, I was filled with the inspiration that comes when we recognize the nothingness of evil. The verse continued to enlighten and inspire, and when on the following Sunday. December 7, 1941, I heard over the radio that the enemy had attacked Oahu, five or six thousand miles away, I felt prepared to deny every argument and joyfully clear my thinking about my former home, church, family, and friends. Never once did I have a feeling of apprehension, fear, doubt, or false sympathy. My only thought was to express gratitude that God's law was operating. Infinite Mind cannot be endangered, nor can His idea be touched.
