The Joyous Way
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Boys and girls who attend the Christian Science Sunday School are learning that it is a privilege to follow Jesus in the way he taught. They also are learning how to heal themselves and others and so are demonstrating health and holiness in a joyous way.
Doreen, a little girl in the third grade at school, learned this joyous way of healing very quickly. When she first started to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, her hands were covered with warts. Just a few Sundays later Doreen came bounding into Sunday school with sparkling eyes. She showed the teacher her hands. They were smooth and soft, and the little girl said, "See, the warts are all gone."
Of course her teacher rejoiced with her and asked Doreen how she had worked this problem out, for it was obvious that she had had no help. "Well," the little girl reasoned, "I just knew that God is Love and that everything He made has to be lovely and beautiful. I knew that nothing ugly could belong to God, and so nothing ugly could belong to me because I am really His child." And because Doreen knew the truth about God so clearly she was free.
