Roseville Press-Tribune
Roseville, California (First Church).
At two services, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Roseville, was officially dedicated on Sunday, March 18, 1945.
History of the local church dates back to 1916, when a small group of Christian Science students met in the old Rose Theatre on Main Street.
Two years later, the group formulated by-laws and began holding services in Red Men's Hall. It was in 1921 that The Mother Church recognized the Roseville group as a Christian Science Society. Later the meeting place was moved to the Masonic Temple.
In 1938 the society became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Roseville. The new church edifice at 145 Park Drive was also completed in 1938, first services being held there on July 10 of that year.
