The Tools of the Christian Scientist

These days, many who have never before used tools are busily at work with them in shipyards, in airplane factories, in defense plants, and on farms. Important work has to be done, and people are buckling down with determination, eager to do their part.

The Christian Scientist, who has enlisted in the work of mental and moral regeneration, also has tools. His work is the overcoming of evil with good, and he has been provided, in the Bible and in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, with definite and effective tools for this purpose.

Isaiah promised, "Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff." This "sharp threshing instrument,"' which the Christian Scientist is learning to use separates truth from error and turns the error to chaff, which the wind blows away. In other words, it is the intelligent affirmation of Truth, based upon faith in the all-power of God, and the fearless rejection or denial of error.
