Excerpts from Letters Concerning Christian Science Wartime Activities
[From a Lieutenant in the Air Corps]
I am serving as a navigator on one of our Flying Fortresses, and have had wonderful proofs of God's loving care. At one time it seemed that one of our control surfaces was completely lost, but by my knowing that all control is in Mind, the ship was righted and we were able to land safely. At another time, after a long flight under difficult conditions, by my knowing that "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way," as Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 454), I was able to receive a guiding signal at a distance that was, to material sense, too great for proper reception. Thus God governs and protects, and is good indeed.
