Christian Science has brought me many physical healings and much comfort and happiness. It has given me a more satisfying and a more usable understanding of God, good.

I was recently healed of a severe case of infection from a bruised leg. This condition appeared very real to physical sense, but with the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was soon healed. About eight years ago I was endeavoring to quit smoking and had worked on it for over two years. During this time, and for several years before, I had been in a business with which I was not well pleased, and I asked the same practitioner who was then helping me in my effort to overcome the tobacco habit for help in finding a change in work.

In facing both these problems I was still using will power and relying on the money paid the practitioner to heal these conditions. These notions led me to travel more than a thousand miles in the direction of what promised a change of vocation. One after another of my own plans failed, but after four months my thinking began to straighten out and I saw that both problems were mental. Then I came home, dropped reliance on will power, and concluded one could not buy a Christian Science healing with money.
