Branch churches and societies contemplating the holding of a Christian Science service on Thanksgiving Day may wish to have the service at a time which will accommodate the greatest number. If a considerable portion of the congregation consists of employees in defense plants, governmental departments and agencies, or those who for some other reason are required to be at their usual work during the morning of Thanksgiving Day, the Thanksgiving service may be held at some other hour than the time such a service is customarily held. More than one service may be held on Thanksgiving Day if those concerned desire that this be done for the purpose of accommodating a greater number of attendants.

The service in The Mother Church will be held at 10.45 a.m. on Thursday, November 23.

At hundreds of training stations and in some theaters of operation, the Christian Science Wartime Minister, the Christian Science Officiating Minister, or the volunteer Christian Science Wartime Worker has become a familiar figure as friend, counselor, and practitioner to men and women in the service. Although civilians, these workers are permitted to function within the military areas because they can give evidence that their services are desired and needed by those in the forces whose religion is Christian Science. The Ministers' and Workers' scope and effectiveness depend much on the co-operation of the Field, for it is from the Held that the names and addresses of servicemen and servicewomen who would welcome their assistance are received.
