Ever since the year 1908, when Christian Science was brought to the attention of my father while on a business trip to the far West, our family has been protected, healed, and regenerated by the teachings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

The mental atmosphere of our home was so changed that the children were no longer held in bondage to material beliefs, which formerly had manifested themselves in periodic attacks of sickness, shared by all and of considerable duration.

Ills, such as quinsy sore throat, were met and mastered by Christian Science treatment, and never recurred, as they had previously done under materia medica. With the assistance of a practitioner, my sister was quickly healed of ptomaine poisoning when she seemed to be passing on. In my own experience, an attack of measles disappeared the second day. The physical benefits, while necessary and right, have been far outweighed by the gradual regeneration of character.
