Twelve years ago I received my first healing in Christian Science. Since childhood I had taken medicine continually; finally I became very ill. All material means failed, and I lost faith in the physicians and medicine. In this extremity I turned to God, believing there was help for me somewhere. As I was lying in bed a voice said to me, "Try Christian Science." I listened to that voice and kept entertaining the thought, although I did not know anything about Christian Science. At my request, a friend called a Christian Science practitioner for me, and after her first visit I realized I had been healed of an eye condition which had troubled me for weeks and prevented me from reading. I had glimpsed the fact which Mrs. Eddy states on page 353 of Science and Health: "All must admit that Christ is 'the way the truth, and the life,' and that omnipotent Truth certainly does destroy error." Before long I was also healed of the condition for which the practitioner had been called.

Since then I have had many healings, of broken bones, severe headaches, colds, corns, and of grief when a loved one passed on. One night I felt most desirous of being more obedient to our Leader's teachings, and the next morning I found the desire for tea and coffee had left me. These healings have all been permanent.
