Words are inadequate to express...

Words are inadequate to express the joy and gratitude which impel me to add my testimony to the thousands which have already been given since our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, opened up for humanity the treasures of our Master's life and revealed their true meaning.

One of my first healings was the overcoming of the need for eyeglasses, which I had worn for some time. It occurred to me that I had been breaking the Commandments by bowing down for sight to a lifeless piece of glass. The First Commandment teaches us, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Therefore, we should look to God, the Giver of all good, for all that we desire. Through prayerful study and application of the truth I learned that light and sight are spiritual and eternal, and therefore cannot be impaired. We do not see through the material eyes; we see by spiritual reflection.

When I was in my early teens my father, whom I loved dearly, passed on. I had not studied Christian Science then and I was deeply grieved. Shortly afterward I came into Christian Science and learned to loose him and see him as God sees him. I learned that man is one with God, so there is no separation, and that God could take care of him better than I could. I was grateful that I could remember the love he had manifested to me and that nothing could dispossess me of love.
