It is with deep gratitude to God...
It is with deep gratitude to God that I offer this testimony. During the past twelve years, Christian Science has been an ever-present help. Through the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Bible has been illumined.
I turned to Christian Science for a newly born child's healing of constipation, a condition from which I too suffered. Through the loving help of a practitioner we were both permanently healed within two weeks, although I knew nothing of this practical religion. Since then, our three children have been taught the healing truths of Christian Science. This first healing was such a revelation to me that I have never since doubted the efficacy of this blessed religion to heal and uplift, whether the condition be moral, financial, or physical.
I am especially grateful to the practitioner, who gave me loving and unselfed help prior to and during the birth of our youngest child. This experience was completely harmonious, and entirely devoid of pain or anxiety.
Many healings have taken place in our home, including those of measles, whooping cough, jaundice, diphtheria, ringworm, tonsillitis, severed tongue, and unemployment. Several of these healings were instantaneous.
For every activity of the Christian Science movement I am very grateful, and also for the various activities I have been privileged to enjoy in branch churches of several countries. My crowning joy was to receive the great blessing of class instruction from a consecrated teacher. This experience was one of the happiest and most inspiring times of my life, and continues to sustain me.
To all who have so lovingly helped me in my journey from sense to Soul I now take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude. My desire henceforth is to help others as I have been helped. As our Leader says in a well-beloved hymn (Poems, p. 13),
"My prayer, some daily good to do
To Thine, for Thee;
An offering pure of Love, whereto
God Ieadeth me."
