For twenty years, up to 1927, I spent most of my time visiting every doctor anyone would suggest to me. Various diagnoses were made of my trouble. Some thought it was ulcers of the stomach, others nervous indigestion, and still another believed it to be a chronically bad appendix. About seven doctors diagnosed my case, and each doctor had a different opinion. They administered injections, put me on diets, used fluoroscopes, and performed an operation, but all to no avail. It was impossible for me to retain food in my stomach, and I was continually beset by severe nausea, cold perspiration at night, and a generally nervous condition. I exhausted every material means recommended.

Then Christian Science found me. I visited a practitioner and experienced quick healing. Immediately the unpleasant symptoms were alleviated. Whereas I had been losing weight week after week, I gained fifteen pounds in the first three months of study, and went forward steadily from that time. I was able to eat everything offered to me, slept like a normal person, and began to lead a regular life for the first time in about twenty years.

Shortly afterward, I was introduced to a student of Christian Science, who later became my husband. In our home, we have known healings of a crushed finger, severe burns, colds and fever, chicken pox, measles, boils, and many other ills. I experienced almost painless childbirth on two occasions. We have also learned that our true substance comes from God alone, and so were able some years ago to work out what seemed to be a severe financial problem.
