From Letters, Substantially As Published
Christian Science is founded on...
Swindon Advertiser
Christian Science is founded on the Bible, including especially the teachings of Christ Jesus, and therefore upon this basis can one meet criticism of it.
In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," referred to by your correspondent, its author, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes as follows (pp. 138, 139): "It was this theology of Jesus which healed the sick and the sinning. It is his theology in this book and the spiritual meaning of this theology, which heals the sick and causes the wicked to 'forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts.'"
The writer of an article in a recent issue of your paper takes exception to the use of the word "infallible" by a Christian Science Committee on Publication in a former letter where he said, "Our Master taught and practiced an infallible method of healing, and Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, restores to humanity this divine method of healing."
