"Clad in the panoply of Love"

Christ Jesus said to his disciples, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." He admonished his students, in spite of this, to go and bring forth fruit, which he said would remain; and he said further that they should love one another. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, felt the world's hatred of Truth, but her thought was filled with the love which reflects Love, God. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" she states (p. 571), "Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you."

As we gain more spiritual understanding, and express more of the Christ, Truth, healing the sick and the sinning, we may feel the world's hatred of Truth, but this should only cause us to love more and have more compassion for all mankind. To love means to open our consciousness to receive spiritual ideas from our Father-Mother, Love. When one understands that he is "clad in the panoply of Love," one is actively thinking thoughts of peace, good will, joy, and love. Love is a vitalizing power that heals envy, revenge, malice, deceit, and hate. Loving thoughts erase remorse, resentment, sorrow.

The love which reflects Love is not emotional or variable, but is manifested in true affection, courtesy, gentleness, and kindness. As one prays for spiritual love one is helping to heal mankind of its distresses. Love, understood and lived, heals belief in disease, inflammation, irritation, poison, and other discords.
