Sunday School Notes and Comments

We should hold in our consciousness the true concept of the children with whom we have to deal. No matter how difficult a pupil may seem to be, the removal of suspicion and distrust, together with the persistent affirmation of the ever-presence of purity, honesty, obedience, and trustworthiness, will lift burdens unwittingly placed on him and enable him to express his true selfhood.

On page 236 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says, "Jesus loved little children because of their freedom from wrong and their receptiveness of right." Should we not strive to see them as the Master did, and love them for the same reasons? Earnest desire to express sympathetic, childlike understanding and happy companionship will render discipline unnecessary, for we shall gain the children's confidence, loyalty, affection, and trust.

Before we attempt to work out the Sunday school lesson it is well to listen for the guidance and direction of God, the great teacher, asking His blessing, and thanking Him for our divinely bestowed ability to prove His glory.
